Even if this video was sponsored I have to say it was a miracle. Our dog had chemo yesterday, came home and didn’t eat at all. We asked the oncologist for a prescription of Entyce and within an hour he ate his favorite treats and a bowl of food. Then he ate again at night. He is energized, playful and happy. Thank you so much for posting a video about this medication. It worked a miracle and I hope it will work for other pets. God bless you doctor, and all who read this message!

My poor Kitty is suffering with a form of this. The vet suggests a feeding tube out of the side of her neck for hydration & food. I don't want her life to fade away, her little life is very precious to me but her eyes often reflect misery. There are times they are wide, curious and full of that same old life she had (after a tubby and her face is clean) - the doc as given me a asteroid cream for her ear flap to absorb and an opiate that is put on her gum for pain. This does help her eat/mash food into her face, but it's a little messy and sometimes hard to watch. It's hard and rare for me to hear a cat's tummy rumble from hunger. My heart it breaking, she's my best friend. The thought of putting her down is unbearable, what should I do? Go the feeding tube route and try to let her live a few more months or ease her off into a sleep she'll never wake from? Also, this is an important question I'd love to have answered, with all the drooling & mess, is this in any way contagious to my other cat?

Just found this cancer in my 13 year old cat. Symptoms/signs were lots of thick saliva/drool, then blood drops around the house, blood found on his chin. Then opened his mouth and saw an open ulcer along the side of his tongue. Treatment was a pain management for the last of his days. However, just a few days of treatments and I can see he absolutely hates the experience. Before he was showing mild signs of discomfort, now he won’t leave his comforting hiding spots and is untrusting of me. If I were in his shoes, I would want to avoid any and all discomfort, and would probably ask for an assisted end of life plan. I plan to finish his current round of meds and determine if I should refill or help him find peace. As animal owners, we have to remove our own mental discomfort and think about theirs. No one wants to live a painful and miserable life especially with no tangible fix to our medical conditions. Choose life until you know you have to choose death. Thank you for your sharing of this knowledge. It does give me comfort I’m doing the best I can for him.

They found the tumor when I brought her in for a dental consult. She has no symptoms. She's scheduled next week for a dental/tumor removal and biopsy. (The regular vet didn't even mention cancer and the ER vet wouldn't address it until I asked him point blank if it was likely cancer and he finally said yes.) I took her to the ER specialty today and they just tried to convince me to go with this approach from my regular vet and didn't refer me. It seems the opposite of what is recommended by the online SCC community. Is there any chance if we caught it early? Is including a dental (even if she needs it) just stupid at this point? Maybe it'll make her feel better? Do you think contact with asphalt could cause this? This is the 2nd of 4 cats (she's only 10 - he died of SCC at 14) that have this and one other died of lymphoma. There's no smoking/flea collars/tuna. They do eat wet and dry (high quality) food. I'm worried that they often lie on asphalt and have been exposed to the debris from construction nearby. They have a catio but also sit outside on the asphalt for an hour or so each day under a motorhome. Maybe they're ingesting bad chemicals when they clean themselves? I need to stop this horrible cycle. This disease is evil.

My 10 year old 50 lb terrier hound mix, Blue, has a peripheral nerve sheath tumor affecting the nerves in his right forelimb. That limb has atrophied and he will never get full funtion back even if we were to do just radiation to get rid of the tumor. It will further atrophy and shrink becoming way less functional and a liability. He is already compensating for the issue in his gait and other activities. Radiation provider said it's better to amputate prior to therapy because after therapy the tissues woludn't be able to heal as well. We are scheduled for surgery this coming Wednesday, everyone is confident he will adapt and enjoy most of the activities he currently does. Thank you for providing this information, it has been hard to find much rhat's relevant.

I have just lost my 7yr old Spinone to Lymphoma. I noticed his sub mandibular Lymph nodes were enlarged at the end of February and he was at the vets the next day. He was diagnosed with Multicentric B cell Lymphoma Stage 4a, with spleen and liver involvement. We tried CHOP. Half way through the protocol the glands in his neck came up huge. So we swapped to a rescue med Lomustine. He had one dose of that and it reduced his white cell count to 0.1. Due to the swollen neck glands he developed aspirate pneumonia and because of the white cell count he had nothing to fight that, he was admitted to hospital and within 15 hrs he had developed sepsis. I drove to the hospital at 1.45 am and we helped him over Rainbow Bridge. That was 3 weeks ago and I still can’t believe he is gone. 😂

Sadly my cat Lyra was diagnosed with mouth cancer, she was able to keep fighting it for 7 months until her health went downhill. Her mouth tumor grew so large that she wasn't able to eat solids any more. We had to sadly put her to rest in June. Went to watch this doc, to hear the causes and symptoms for peace of mind. Missing her 💔

A possible 3rd round of Mast Cell in my 8 year old yellow lab named Yeti. She hoes in for surgery on Monday.. What my vet suggested was we put her on Purina Pro Plan, Salmon and rice for sensitive stomachs and also Benadryl to help control histamine. Problem was, we cave in to her begging at the dinner table and gave her little bites of foods she probably shouldn't have. For example, she can't have any chicken or beef products or anything closely associated like Turkey or Bison. One thing my husband and i wonder is if her early exposure to high levels of cigarette smoke as a puppy. She used to belong to my father in law before he died abd he was a chain smoker. Has anyone noticed if their dog gets mast cell recurring in the warm months when pollen is high?

Thank you so much for this and all your videos. Our one year old black lab puppy Marty was recently diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma. It started out small ( left leg wrist) and after a surgery plan was formulated (and elapsed time for surgery scheduled date) the size spread rapidly and our vet said amputation is the best case now. We are saddened, afraid, and worried for our puppy and don’t know what to expect and now seeking an oncologist for the next steps. Your video’s are tremendously helpful for us to learn about what to expect going forward and what questions to ask. Thank you so much.

Hi Doctor, Thank you for the informational video! - you mentioned reducing the dose gradually-after how long of using the steroids is this necessary? My dog has been on prednisone at 1mg/kg 1 daily for T-cell lymphoma for 7 days now, but he developed a lower GI bleed and my oncologist said to continue with the steroids even though am sure that’s what caused the bleeding in the first place, I’d like to stop it, in a case like this, can it be stopped cold turkey? Thanks again!

Inside of 20 minutes, my Bengal baby was groaning, laid on the floor with glazed eyes and rapid breathing.. it was horrible! I went to the drug sheet, and saw BRADYCARDIA as a side effect. I grabbed my stethoscope while hubby phoned the vet at home. Her heart rate was just 80! Her Bp must have been in her boots! Even worse, an hour or so later, I checked her again, and she was arrhythmic! I am a NURSE and a NUTRITIONAL; BIOCHEMIST.. I KNOW that if a cat or human is bradycardic the next step with likely be VT, VF, then CARDIAC arrest.. we were left with only one choice.. PRAYER! Lily's heart rate, 6 hours later, had come up to 120.. we were relieved, but I am angered that a professional - and he is a very nice guy - did not know ANYthing about this damned drug! NOTE - Azithromycin that she was on should NOT be given.. QUOTE - Can Capromorelin and Azithromycin be used together? While there is no direct information available on whether Capromorelin and Azithromycin can interact with each other, some things to consider: • Capromorelin: Medications like ERYTHROMYCIN, which is in the same class as Azithromycin, can PROLONG Capromorelin's effect in the body [1]. • Azithromycin: It is generally well-tolerated with minimal interactions with other medications [2]. Our story from Australia. We adopted our Golden retriever, Millie, aged seven and a half on the second of February 2024 from a wonderful adoption agency. We almost immediately located a small lump on her back. We took her to the vet on 14th March, and notified the adoption agency, by which time the lump had grown significantly and was looking very nasty, together with another twenty or so smaller lesions on her back and neck which were growing and fast. She was also shedding skin. The vet told us that it could be Lymphoma and we all agreed that if it was the worst case, we would not consider chemotherapy as it is too harsh on people, let alone a dog. We are told that most dogs don’t last more than two to four months after diagnosis and even chemotherapy has no certainty. I note that Dr Sue acknowledges this. Our vet operated on the following Thursday (March 21) and removed approximately half of the lesions including the largest ones. The adoption agency paid for everything. On the previous Monday (18th) we had commenced her on a course of Ivermectin which we got from our local farm produce store. This was our decision without consulting the vet. Thursday 28th March, Lymphoma was confirmed. 2nd April, sutures removed. Most of the remaining lesions had fallen off, leaving just 2. Millie had healed from the operation in an incredible manner even though she looked like a patchwork doll. Our vet was amazed, he had never heard of Ivermectin being used for cancer treatment. Follow up by the vet was on 15th April by which time the remaining lesions had fallen off. The vet just kept looking at her, shaking his head and saying he had never seen this before and that none of the dogs that he had treated for Lymphoma in the past had survived let alone thrived. 28th May and we have discovered two more small, dry patches. We are watching them closely and fully expect them to fall off. Millie is going from strength to strength. The main issue that we have now, is that we have to suffer from her selective deafness! Doubtful that Ivermectin can fix this. Her energy levels and strength have tripled. It makes us believe that she must have been pretty ill when we got her although nobody could have known. The agency only had her for three days. Everyone who knows her and her story (a lot of people, she makes friends everywhere she goes) are delighted and amazed. For the time being, we will keep her on Ivermectin. What we don't know is how long, when does she go on a maintenance dose and what the dose should be. What we used was a horse wormer in pellet form. The packet contained 140 mg of Ivermectin and was suitable to treat a 700 kg horse. Millie weighed 46 kg (very overweight, she is now down to 35.5 KG), so we gave her about 10 mg. Millie is also on a no carb diet and will remain on it, however, we have to ensure that she does not lose too much weight. Any advice would be appreciated. We are hoping that Millie’s story may help other dogs and people. The adoption agency has very recently taken in a one-year-old Golden Retriever with Lymphoma. He has been operated on and is now on Ivermectin. The same dose as Millie. We will be watching closely. Questions and comments are most welcome.

This video and some of the articles I've read are absolutely heartbreaking. 11 days ago I took my schnauzer mix to the hospital after checking him in with our usual veterinarian. He was anemic and very lethargic, and an ultrasound at the hospital found a splenic tumor had ruptured and was bleeding into his abdomen. The emergency veterinarian did mention that these masses aren't always cancer, but that at his age (12 1/2), she'd never seen one not be cancer. She also saw small nodules on the liver and suggested the cancer had spread. His heart and lungs were clear. Given her certainty, the poor prognosis, as well as the cost, we opted to let him go. Knowing what I know now, I would have opted for surgery without blinking. I hope others find this video before they feel rushed to make the kind of decision we had to make.

Hey doctor sue i followed your advice from your how to catch cancer early video and got my dog abdominal ultrasound. The results were good and bad good in the fact that they didn’t find any tumors or abnormal growth on any of her internal organs. But bad in that she was diagnosed with bilateral renal degeneration and diffuse hepatopathy. For which the primary differential diagnosis for the hyperechoic hepatopathy is vacuolar hepatopathy from metabolic disease according to the sheet they printed out for me. They said the only way to know for sure what’s going on with the liver would be to do a biopsy. The thing is she’s so old now that I think going under for the biopsy would prove to risky so Im not going to risk it right now on potentially op for a nu.q test to determine her cancer risk first.
